TK Resident Applicants w/Currently Enrolled Siblings
If you submitted an application for a TK student during the lottery window and you have a child already attending a school in RIA, you will receive an email with registration information to the email you provided on the survey.
Non-Sibling TK Applicants
Since non-sibling TK students are not eligible at this time, they are eligible to sign up for Banta Unified School District’s TK Program.
K-8th Grade Applicants
All lottery applicants K-8th Grade BUSD/River Islands Residents that applied are eligible to complete an enrollment packet for the 2026-2027 school year. A registration link will be sent via email to the email address provided on the lottery survey.
Once all enrollment forms have been reviewed and eligibility verified, school assignments will be distributed. Families are not guaranteed their first preference of school as space is limited at specific sites by grade level. All lottery applicants will be notified of school assignments by the end of July, 2026.

River Islands Academies
Lottery/Admissions 2026-2027

All incoming K-8th Grade BUSD/River Islands Residents (not including TK) that applied for the 26-27 Lottery/Admissions are eligible to complete an enrollment packet and will not participate in the Public Lottery Drawing.
TK students who have current siblings enrolled in River Islands Academies and who applied for the lottery during the 26-27 lottery window, are eligible to complete an enrollment packet and will not participate in the Public Lottery Drawing. If families did not submit an application during the lottery window, they will not receive an enrollment packet.
According to the preferences in our charter (listed below) we will only be able to register TK students who already have siblings enrolled in River Islands Academies Schools and who submitted a lottery application during the lottery window. We currently do not have enough seats at River Islands Academies to accommodate all TK students.
Registration will be available online for those eligible starting March 2, 2026. A link will be sent via email to the email address provided on the lottery survey.
We will hold our public drawing to determine a waitlist for TK students who do not currently have a sibling for the 26-27 school year, should additional space become available. The public random lottery drawing will take place at River Islands Community Gym (16419 Riptide Way, Lathrop, CA 95330) on February 26, 2026 at 9:00 AM. The public is invited to attend.
Charter Lottery Preferences
Children of River Islands Academies teachers, staff, and founders identified in the charter
(not to exceed 10% of River Islands Academies enrollment)
Residents of the District who have siblings admitted to or attending River Islands Academies
Residents of the District
Students who are currently enrolled in Banta Elementary School and students who reside in the Banta Elementary School attendance area
(for purposes of the SB 740 Charter School Facility Grant Program)
All students who have attended a charter school operated by River Islands Academies
Non-Residents of the District who have siblings admitted to or attending River Islands Academies
All other students
Results of the Public Lottery Draw will be posted on the RIA Website by March 2, 2026.
All enrollment is confirmed after the completion of enrollment packet and required paperwork. Enrollment is contingent on proof of residency paperwork.
